Job Description
Purpose of role:
The Airport Terminal Manager (ATM) is accountable for the complete management of the airport depot and where applicable the into plane and hydrant activities. It includes all Operations, HR, Maintenance (including inspection and testing) and HSSE activities within the depot in accordance with the Site Operating standards.
This role has a large team of site-based employees reporting into it.
Key Results/ Accountabilities
To manage the staff and operations and act as the Chief and point of contact at the International Airport.
To ensure that the JV s activities at the airport are conducted safely and efficiently and in accordance with company s Regulations and Standards for Operations and HSE.
To proactively develop excellent relationships with our customers representatives and stakeholders, including Department of Civil Aviation, Airport Authority, Fire Service, and Police.
To develop a well-motivated team of staff committed to safety, efficiency, performance and teamwork.
Specific Responsibilities include :
Effective management of all Site risks including applying tools to recognise and minimise risk
Thorough application of the Management of Change process
Ensuring that all staff are competent to carry out their assigned duties
Optimising the efficiency of the operation
Implementation of recommendations from various audits
Accountable for all HSSE aspects of the Facility in compliance with the Operating Management System (OMS) sub element 3: Risk - group essentials 3.1 3.7
Implementation of correct quality control procedures
Overseeing the serviceability and preventative maintenance plans in place for all equipment and ensure these are current and monitored
Responsible for the maintenance of all equipment in the depot. This includes ensuring there are appropriate site specific preventative maintenance schedules in place for all equipment and that these are current
Key challenges faced on the role
Provide leadership and coaching to staff to ensure that all activities meet the highest expectations of the company s Regulations and Standards for Operations, Quality Control, HSE, and Training.
Confirm standards through regular auditing of the staff, facilities, equipment and activities associated with the operation and ensure all deficiencies are corrected.
Lead, manage, train and coach staff to ensure a highly skilled, flexible and well-motivated operating team.
Ensure that the operations are conducted with maximum efficiency without compromising agreed customer service standards. Manage workload effectively whilst maintaining a reasonable home life balance for staff.
Take proactive action on HSE and operational matters with other parties such as Airport Ramp Safety Committee, Airport Authority, Customers, Throughputters and Other Ramp Operators.
Accountable for all administrative duties in the depot. This includes but not limited to Sales, stock management, overtime, petty cash, record keeping, data inputting. Routinely checking the accuracy of these tasks when performed by his staff.
Assisting with the compiling of Capital and Revenue Budget proposals for the Depot and implementing and controlling the Revenue budget.
Reporting of management information to the appropriate levels in the organisation
Accountable for communicating stock requirements, taking into account any changes in demand patterns.
Accountable for the stock control at the airport and being able to identify trends, irregularities and implementing remedial action.
Represents the company on all local Operating and Safety Committees as scheduled by the Local Airport Authority. Responsible for promoting company s HSSE agenda and acting in our commercial interest.
The incumbent represents the company in all JV matters attends all JV Board meetings.
He/she is responsible for providing data to each of the JV partners, bearing in mind the need to maintain the strictest confidentiality when reporting marketing information.
Maintain the Financial Management requirements for all the Participants
Experience & Expertise (Typical educational qualification& experience)
Educational background
Tertiary Qualification in business, Engineering or other technical discipline with appropriate experience.
Experience (years and nature)
5-7 years experience at a similar role in the Aviation industry.
Fundamental understanding of costs & budgets and distribution operations
Experience of working in a diverse, multi ethnic/ cultural environment is essential
Ability to work under pressure and ensure quality delivery by deadline.
Other
1- Excellent Communication and Leadership skills especially JV Management
2-Good financial understanding
3-Fluent spoken English and good written English
4-Written and spoken Arabic would be an advantage.
5-Good computer skills, especially Microsoft Office
