Job Description
Applications are invited for the position of Accountant – Treasury.
The job holder is responsible for monitoring all aspects of Treasury including: maintaining liquidity, placing deposits, purchasing foreign exchange and maintaining healthy relations with banks amongst others.
Key Accountabilities
Ensure liquidity at all times to make necessary payments while investing the excess funds to earn returns. Monitor daily cash flow.
Ensure the team processes transactions in time to avoid penalties (credit card, Govt. & labour related etc.)
Validate and action bank charges (TT, LC, Guarantee charges, etc.) to ensure amount debited by the banks are in-line with the agreement.
Review of daily bank statements to ensure all entries are posted in time by the Treasury Team for direct bank charges/ receipts
Ensure that cheques, bank letters & all other documents are prepared, signed and sent to the bank within the cut-off time to ensure smooth banking and no penalties
Optimize cash flow through effective forecasting based on analysis of key events, payment commitments and historical trends
Liaise with bank officials on various treasury matters to avoid delay in banking activities, to obtain advise on Forex movements and forecasts, bank guarantee enforceability
Monitor and keep track of foreign currency movement in liaison with banks to safeguard EKFC from exchange fluctuation risk
Secure the best returns on deposits placed with banks. Liaise with EK Group treasury to leverage relationships to secure the best deals for EKFC.
Prepare periodic reports to assist in closing of books and reporting financials (incl. Management disclosure reports)
Implement banking products/ channels to make operations efficient and easier for users (online banking, corporate credit cards, etc.). Recommend process improvements to improve business efficiency

Essential Requirements and Competencies
Education Qualification:
Graduate in accounting or commerce or equivalent
Work Experience:
Minimum 5 years in the area of Finance
ERP exposure with excellent excel skills
Skills:
Being conversant with internal control procedures and concepts
Ability to delegate duties, tasks and reports
Experience in the use of data entry programs
Time management and workload efficiency skills
Persistence in finishing projects in spite of hindrances
Readiness to go extra mile to avoid mistakes and produce new opportunities
Ability to adjust to diverse ideas, impressions, schemes, and tactics from individuals or changing preferences
